Melanie Smith - Party Planner
Since I was little, I have enjoyed making people smile. I used
to make up plays and then invite friends and family over to watch my 'shows'. As I got older, I realized
that my shows may have contained more cringe-worthy than smile-worthy moments and I started focusing on doing
something that would actually bring smiles to people's faces. I found it in my detail-oriented and
'wanting to get everything exactly right' personality. I found that when something needed to be planned,
I loved being the person to make it happen.
After planning many events in high school and college, I
started volunteering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. There, I help to plan and make once-in-a-lifetime
wishes come true for little ones with life-threatening illnesses. The events for these kids are so
important to them and their loved ones and once I started volunteering I really gained an appreciation for
how important it is to make sure that events go off 'without a hitch' - this philosophy carries through to
my party planning today. From there, event planning on a professional level followed naturally. Though I
have been told more than once that I'm crazy for actually 'liking' this type of thing, I've been fortunate
enough to find a job that I love and I hope that you're able to see that love come through in the events
that I plan. I'm confident that you will.
Experiences are the things of which life is made, and that's
why I feel that the planning of them is so important. The ideal event can be remembered for a lifetime.
And it's just a plan away. I'd love to help in the planning for this special time. |
